EVs: EnVisioning Sustainability

The world has been witnessing constant retardation when it comes to the quality of the air one breathes, the potability of water one consumes. What is disheartening is that these are the repercussions of certain human activities; in fact, a significant amount of it. Consider air pollution in New Delhi for instance. The quality of air has rolled down a precipitous slope so rapidly that it can perhaps be transported up the slope by Sisyphean adherence. The primary contributors were the automobiles, more specifically the combustion that occurs in order to propel the vehicle. The Delhi Government left no stone unturned, installed Air purifiers at regular intervals and even came up with the infamously shortcoming Odd-Even scheme. This mention was necessary that even after implementing such stringent measures, no substantial improvement has been witnessed.

Just like an apparition of hope when everything is futile, science gifted us all with Electric Vehicles. These vehicles are propelled by electricity, meaning there is no combustion taking place whatsoever. Hence, the emission rate can be brought to an absolute zero, should the manufacturers take adequate care of the replaceable batteries and before disposing them off. In this manner, along with several other plausible reasons, one can clearly envision the global automobile industry to be gradually inclining towards EVs. Follow us further into the article where we elaborate how envisioning sustainability can be a walk in the park; well, you would have to use an EV to get to the park first though.

Sustainability is the avoidance of depletion of the commodity at hand for protracted utilization. In layman terms, it is like extending the life of your good by organizing meticulous checks of maintenance so that it doesn’t get deteriorated one day to the extent that the condition becomes irrevocable. Maintenance of an EV is far easier than that of a gasoline-fuelled automobile because there are fewer mobile parts, and no degradation of metal bodies on account of combustion. By extension, it becomes significantly easier to warrant the sustainability of an Electric Vehicle than a petroleum-propelled automobile. One has to ensure that maintenance checks are organized at regular intervals, and if necessary, faulty parts are replaced as early as possible.

Sustainability is a very relevant term one comes across, especially when they are tackling a huge fleet of Electric Vehicles. Maintenance adds up to the net expenditure. This might not look appealing to anybody under the aforementioned circumstance. There is an optimal solution to that one as well. Instead of buying an entire fleet of vehicles altogether, one can rent them. In this manner, the owner of the conveyances assumes full responsibility for maintenance checks and replacement of faulty sections.
